OkCupid: The Final Frontier

I've been on OkCupid for over ten years. Wikipedia lists the site's launch date as May 5th, 2004, and my first message is dated the same month. In that time, I've browsed tens of thousands of profiles, sent and received who knows how many messages, met four (4) people*, and built a great deal of memories. The site isn't what it used to be anymore, but I still spend time on it, browsing profiles, and I see so much that people could do to improve their OkCupid experience. I'm hoping to answer some of the more common questions by OkCupid users, clear up as much confusion as possible, and offer some suggestions and advice based on what I've seen in my 10+ years browsing profiles.

*While I'm certainly open to it, meeting people has never been my goal. I came first for the math and humor, later for the vibrant journaling community, and I stay for the nostalgia, occasional decent conversation, and because I've come to enjoy browsing profiles in my spare time.
